Unexpected Exeter: Circus Carnival

Commissioned by Exeter Council to design and create costumes for the Unexpected Festival’s Circus Parade Finale August 31st 2014.

50 fun costumes brought to life by a team of leading artists,  local artists and members of the public, old and young alike, during a three week costume-making residency in South Street. This was a pilot project which aimed to regenerate the community engagement Carnival spirit in the South West, providing a platform for participants to learn new skills and to do something uniquely different, exciting and very magical.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated, to everyone who contributed their energy, time and skill to the project, to the wonderful Exeter Scrap Store for allowing us to share the space, and to the Fantastic Arts and Events team at Exeter City Council for making this project possible.

For those of you who performed, made costumes or were in any way part of the experience and would like to feedback please do fill in this form.
